Tanning has for a long time been associated with debates on the safety of different options and it is because of this that we decided to talk a bit about the safety aspects of Idol Tan, one of the most popular sunless tanning options today, and according to a rising number of people, the best option to get a nice tan these days.
For a long time, it was thought that exposure to sunlight does only good. It promotes production of Vitamin D which is essential for proper functioning of the human body, it boosts the immune system and promotes good mood. However, after a while, negative aspects of sun tanning have also been identified, such as aging of the skin, damage to the DNA of the skin cells, leading to an increased likelihood of developing skin cancers of different types. It has also been established that artificial tanning options such as tanning beds are even more likely to produce these negative effects.
The track record of sunless tanning options has also not been the best one. For instance, the most dramatic example of this have been canthaxanthin products which were once commonly used, but which have since been found to cause side effects as serious as retinopathy and even hepatitis.
Fortunately, it is now possible to safely achieve that bronze tan that everyone is looking for and the product that makes this possible is Idol Tan. Idol Tan is one of the products based on DHA, a carbohydrate whose ability to darken the skin has been discovered in the 1920s and whose safety was established in meticulous research first done in 1950s and thereon.
The way in which DHA products, including Idol Tan, work is by acting on the amino acids found in the skin, which turn darker as the result of this action. DHA only affects the payer of the skin that is on the top and that is already made up of dead skin cells, the so called stratum corneum. This means that DHA or Idol Tan for that matter will not penetrate further than the top layer of the skin, meaning that it will not have any effects on the living skin cells. This makes any chance of any side effects virtually inexistent.
The only safety issue that might be associated with DHA products has to do with other ingredients in these products, especially if they are alcohol based, which can cause dryness of the skin. However, Idol Tan was formulated using water and aloe vera, which means that you will not experience absolutely any side effects. OF course, there is a possibility that some people are simply hypersensitive to similar products, but this is more of an exception than a rule
