There are many products being sold online for different things, products such as pills for enhancing male potency, pills for enlarging breasts, pills for all kinds of different ailments and improvements and one thing that you never find about them is how they actually work. The reason behind this is that the majority of those products do not work at all and that the manufacturer simply does not know what to say about their mechanism of work. Idol Tan is not such a product and we are therefore able to share with you the exact way in which Idol Tan works towards giving you that bronze tan that you have been looking for.
The way in which Idol Tan works has everything to do with its active ingredient called dihydroxyacetone, also known as DHA for short. This ingredient was historically used for doing X-rays and it was accidentally discovered that it has the tendency to darken the places on the skin where it had contact with it. In 1950, further research was done into this carbohydrate and it was once again noticed that it has the capability of darkening the skin it touches.
The scientific research was then moved into this direction and the scientists turned to explaining how DHA does this and whether there are any dangers involved with using DHA for this purpose. This is what the research has shown. It is actually quite simple. Namely, DHA reacts with various amino acids present in the top layer of the skin, amino acids that are parts of proteins which contain keratin layer present on the very surface of the skin.
These amino acids react to DHA and produce coloration which rangers from yellow to brown. This process is very similar to that called Maillard reaction, which produces dark coloration when sugar is heated to a certain degree.
It was also discovered that DHA only penetrates the very first layer of the skin, stratum corneum which consists of dead skin cells. It produces pigments which are known as melanoidins because they act in a similar way to melanin which darkens when exposed to UV rays. The fact that DHA does not go deeper into the skin enables the products based on it, including Idol Tan to produce the tanning effect without posing any risk for the skin or causing any side effects.
